| Description: | Launched in March 1991, Zouk Singapore has grown into a club like none other in Asia, hosting international dance world heavyweights like Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Paul Van Dyk and Armin Van Buuren to name a few.
With the central aim of propelling Asia's dance music culture forward and leading Singapore to the forefront of global clubbing culture by continuously pushing boundaries, Zouk Singapore has managed to not only put Singapore on the world dance map, it has evolved into a subculture of its own.
The allure of Zouk is generated by four distinctly different clubs all within the Zouk complex:
Velvet Underground for the hedonistic, with its own entrance, thick velvet-covered walls and prized art-collections from Frank Stella, Andy Warhol & Takashi Murakami to name a few;
Phuture with its futuristic design, non 4/4 sound and impressive LED wall;
The Wine Bar with its indoor seating where people meet up for drinks and lounge before entering the complex for a night of debauchery;
Zouk Singapore with its extensive use of Gaudi inspired Moorish tiles and forms, cutting-edge sound system and lighting, sprawling multi-level dance floor and pockets of bars. |

Def Mix 20th Anniversary Tour with Satoshi Tomiie & Hector Romero (US)
Saturday 24 November 2007 at Zouk
Legendary label Def Mix celebrates 20 years of making music history! Set up by DJ David Morales and partner Judy Weinstein as a production and management company, the label has entered the status of legend for playing an integral part in bringing the house sound (once a disco sub-genre played only in Chicago and Detroit clubs) to the ears of the world. To celebrate, the New York studio sent its crew on the road for a series of mind-blowing shows of cutting-edge music. In this first installment of two Def Mix dates at Zouk, visionary DJ and SAW Recordings label boss Satoshi Tomiie - who’s helped shape electronic music with tracks like Tears and who has worked with the likes of David Bowie, Mariah Carey and U2 - teams up with Hector Romero, eclectic and electrifying house DJ and label manager of Definity Records.
Note: Hector Romero will warm up for Satoshi Tomiie from midnight onwards so do arrive early to catch their whole set.
